I have a 1984 Silver two toned Corvette. I bought it two years ago for $8,000. I am now looking to get some body work done. The car has some scratches on just about every part of the car fender hood etc... They all look like they could be repaired with some fiberglass repair at a body shop. Does anyone know what the paint, body work and labor would run me. I want to have an idea of what is reasonable before I go get quotes. Thank You.

A ball park figure for this is about 4k .It all dependes on what you want in an end result. The only thing I would suggest is to replace items that are involved in the process, like light lenses emblems and weatherstrip. These items may look good now but will look like ass on a new paint job.

If you go cheap, ($2K), it'll look okay for a while, or until you get close and find they didn't mask everything properly, etc..

If you're going to keep it, spend the money to do it right. You'll then be proud to show it for the next 10 to 15 years.

After I finish paying for the kid's tuition and the wife's teeth I'll then be able to invest the $4200 quote I got from a local shop for everything I want done.

just went through the repair and repaint process. had several cracks
repaired minor nose damage fixed and had the car completely stripped
down and repainted. 2 base 3 clear and wet sanded and buffed to
super smooth finish. price in the neighborhood of 4500.00
