1984 ecm in a 1982 corvette

Hi, guys and gals, I read the I could put a 1984 ecm in my 82 corvette. I did, it starts great but ideals at 1400 and wont go down at all and a bright check engine light. Did what the chip maker said to do ,but no luck! Any ideas? thanks JAC

If you are looking to increase performance, you could look into a hypertech performance chip, but I don't know what your results will be. Best to put the original one back so it runs correctly.
