1984 Fuel Pump help

I am trying to put 85 fuel pump in my 84.Wires are color coded black and white for 85 but 84 are both black.Can anyone tell me to hook up wires right without burning pump up.Any help is appreciated

I did that swap a few yrs ago, I thought the pump connector are the same.I can't remember. On the new pump is there any markings that show which is positive or negitive? If I recall the pump ground wire goes to the sending unit tube. Sometimes there are instructions w/ the pump that show which is + or - sides, then cycle the key to see which wire has power. Just cover up the fuel tank hole before testing for power.

I bought fuel pump off Ebay.No instructions included.I think you are right about ground to tube,i just wanted to make sure it was not backwards in some kind of way:W
