Help! 1986 Vette distributor swap !

Hello !
I was wanting to switch my ECM controlled HEI distributor in my '86 vette to a Points system.
I purchased a ready to run MSD magnetic pick up distributor but I was wondering what do I do with the connector that runs from the ECM to the old distributor ?
do I just leave it hanging there ?
my baby is just sitting in the garage soooooo anything that can help me move forward is greatly appreciated THANKS !!!!

Yes just leave it hanging. Keep the old distributor somewhere safe so that a future owner can swap it back in.
you will also need to be aware that this will set a fault code as the ECM will no longer get any info from the distributor.
