Does anyone know of a shop in the Phoenix area that can install new mufflers with tailpipes that have a very stock appearance? I'd go to the dealer but they want $600.00 for both without installation.

Thanks,
Rick

install them yourself it's only 6 bolts. might need a small dremel to cut back the old pipe to get it off but it's really not that hard. maybe an hour worth of work.

I'll look into that Mic! I'm trying to find really stock looking 87 mufflers. Looks like you have a rippin 87!!!

Thanks,
Rick

if you want OEM replacements these aren't bad

OEM-Styled Replacement Mufflers With Dual Functioning Outlets!
s
Stock look but more powerful sound!
Accepts our custom exhaust tip!
These Mufflers are dead ringers for the originals on 1985-91 Corvettes (they will fit 1984's and make them look and sound better, too). Most factory Corvette mufflers have only one functional outlet -- the other is a dummy. These mufflers have two full-size, live outlets for minimum back pressure and a low, mellow tone. Add aluminized construction, double wrap body, welded assembly, and corrosion resistant inner parts for a top quality, performance muffler. Welded factory style bracket for easy installation. Clamps available separately, below. 2.25" inlet. Sold in pairs.

Thanks man! she rolls pretty good :D

I've got a set like Mic's on my stock '87 Vert, along with

yb.dll

and I'm very pleased with both the sound and performance. The crossover tube greatly reduced the resonance.

Thats great information! I like the idea of the crossover tube also.

Keep us posted on those times!

Thanks,
Rick

Try these from Corvette Central. Now that I have looked at them closer they appear to be the same as those from madvet.

These are Walker Super Turbo mufflers made for the L98 cars and should be available through any good muffler shop that can order Walker mufflers. Probably cheaper than the Mid-America price too.

They are only slightly louder than the stock mufflers but a deeper tone.
