I just purchased a 1988 yellow coupe and there seem to be lots of rattles from the translucent top and the area where it attaches to the windshield. The rattles are less when the top is removed, but the top seems solid. Do you know what could be causing this?

Also, one of the light bulbs in the readouts on the dash appears to be burnt out. How does one replace this?

There are 4 small bulbs in the dash that illuminate the readout. They're not cheap and I'd keep one or two extra as backups. Changing them is easy. Remove the dash trim and you'll see 4 silver covers about the size of a dime. Remove the cover, use needle nose pliers to extract the bulb and reverse the procedure to install the new one.

As to the roof rattling? Make sure all the weather stripping is in good condition and that the roof bolts screw in until they stop. Make sure the attach points are tight as well.

Had a buddy that had to replace the screws and receivers that hold the hard top on. Apparently the threads crossed many time and the bolts felt like they were screwed in but came loose once he traveled. If you haven't already, check the thread of the bolt and the receiver part. always possible to repeat a one in a million scenario.
