I have a '90 C4 with a newly rebuilt engine. I have 300 miles on it and I recently changed the oil to get the break-in oil out . I'm occasionally being more aggressive to see what she'll do. It has the automatic Trans., which was resealed, flushed, etc. while the motor was out. ATF level is in the middle of the "range."

When I "punch" it in Drive(actually ODrive) she downshifts as normal but will hold first gear at red line, till I momentarily release the gas pedal like I'm shifting a stick. Then it'll shift. All other gears shift fine. Under normal driving it shifts normally.

All cables, hoses and wires are connected correctly.

Any Ideas????

Thanks, Don

I found it in the FSM. I need to reset/adjust the T.V. (throttle valve) cable.

When in doubt.....R.T.F.M. = Read The Forsaken(expletive) Manual.

I will let you all know if it works.

Thanks, Don

Did the trick. When in doubt.....RTFM.
