1990 Coupe-vss-vehicle Speed Sensor?

Where is the VSS located. My cluster stoped showing speed, odometer and mileage related readings but fuel level and cluster lights work fine.
What's my next step.

Should be the same on the Auto. Check the extension housing.

10mm bolt with a hold down bracket. Dont loose the little spacer on the back side of the hold down bracket. You should be able to gently pry/wiggle/pull it out. Dont be rough on it its an aluminum part in an aluminum machined bore. make sure you get the driven gear out too. It just rests on the end of the shaft there is no retainer.

I would check the wires / connector they may be corroded or broken. Try cleaning them with some contact cleaner, emery paper, or an eraser if you can get to them.
