I have just purchased a 1991 C4 Corvette Coupe with a 383 conversion,
They changed form a dual mass flywheel to single mass flywheel. when the
vehicle is in neutral and one lets the clutch out there is a noise like a rattle.
also in low speeds there is a noise from the gear box as the speed increases the noise
goes away, is this normal

Since the car is fairly new to you so first off as has been stated in Blogs, forums and other sources the Dual mass Flywheel is there to reduce the gear rattle/noises, and ZFs do rattle abit. so with it removed chances of rattle goes up.

The next thing you can do if you do not know when the trans was last serviced is change the transmission oil. my car had a nasty sounding trans. hard shifting, drained and refilled with OEM syncromesh trans fluid (I had some and a friend gave some) and it worked great, there are many other after market fluids out there that are just as good if not better and I am sure you will either research them out or others will let you know thier choice.
