1994 Antenna Mast Replacement

I am trying to replace my antenna mast that doesn't retract all the way down. I purchased a replacement mast from GM. The problem I'm having is after I removed the antenna nut and turned the radio on, the mast goes up but doesn't come out. The instructions say not to pull on the mast. Did the instructions fail to mention something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dave

Dave.....try posting this question in the C4 area. Someone there should be able to help you. People mainly frequent this area to test posting pictures.
