1994 Rim/Tire size

I have a question about the rim sizes on a 1994 Corvette Roadster. I am familiar with the factory tire sizes but are the rim width sizes specific for front and rear or are they all the same? I am interested since I want to know what my tire size options are? Also, is there any tire fit data out there? I would appreciate any feedback.

I think your wheels should be: Rear - 17 by 9.5, front 17.8.5 with 56mm offset. Do a yahoo (or your fav search page) search on corvette wheel and you will find sever sites that can 'show' you what various wheels will look like on your car.

Some had 17X9.5 all around and some had 17X8.5 front with 17X9.5 rear.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but since Larry's car is a convertible it could not have come with RPOZ07, which was limited to coupes only.

Part of the ZO7 option was 9.5" rims all the way around. Stock (non Z07 cars) rim sizes were actually 8.5" up front and 9.5" in the back. The 1992 Corvettes (both coupes and convertibles) were actually the only year that came with 9.5" rims all the way around as a stock item. In 1993 this changed to 8.5" up front and 9.5" in the back, and remained that way for following production years unless there was a special suspension option (or car - the Grand Sport, for example) ordered.

So, to answer your question Larry...from the factory you should have had 8.5" on the front and 9.5" on the back. If you are looking to put the 9.5" rims on all 4 corners, they will fit and then enable you to also upgrade to a wider tire up front.

your description was almost flawless... but, any Corvette 88-92 (assuming the 88 has the 17 inch option) came with 17x9.5 rims on all four corners (not just '92). they changed it in '93 saying it would be better for drivability, but I personally think they found out they could save a bunch of $$$$ with the smaller front wheels and tires.

You are correct. I am rather familiar with the LT1 cars I suppose, but not as much with the L98 cars and that is why I failed to mention pre 1992 cars. I will have to try and remember what you mentioned about the earlier C4 cars.
