Hi, any pics you can post or send in email?

Thanks
Rain(will spread the word)

No more garage space huh? So what's the wifey look like? ;LOL

Above market price!

A 95 coupe with 72,000 miles in mint condition is a fine machine but is only worth between 10 to $11,000 at best at this time of year. If you can hold onto it until maybe April you may get close to it.

Now if you had between 20 and 30,000 miles you might have a chance.

I'm not looking to rain on your parade but l have a mint 96 with 30,000 miles less and l would be thrilled to get $13,000 privately.

A dealer might not even take it with all those miles.

Good Luck

Alan

p.s. I'm not looking to hurt your sale, just trying to give my 2 cents.

Any pics that you can post? Does it by any chance have the sports seats?

PS already have wife & kids thanks anyways LOL

Please send pics to layneart04@carolina.rr.com. Where is the car??

I just sold my perfect 79 and the wife :BOW says to get another Vette, just newer. If its not been rolled up in a ball or anything like that I am interested.

Kingman

Why does it bother you so much to see someone ask more $ than you think something is worth?? Seems you are the first to respond to anyones initial post of a car for sale. Reminds me of someone shorting a stock...

A little bit of Knowledge hurts!

Hi

While l really cannt argue with you but it seems to me that you have missed all of my threads claiming that the car offered is a great deal. All l am doing is trying to help the the uninformed buyer. Who happens to be a first time vette buyer in most cases.

I follow the used car markets very closely at the wholesale and retail levels and lastly the private sales. For some of us this is a major undertaking no matter if it's a $5000 vette to a $75,000 Lingfeller, Calloway or other performance makers.

I had played with getting a C5 and mentioned that l was going to sell my C4 and when l was contacted by several members l was completely candid with them and very realistic about what it's worth is. Most people think they have gold and very few actually do when it comes to condition and values.

I have judged Concours at shows and l feel l know some what, what a vette should look like as an everyday driver.

By the way if l was out of line the other members who answered this thread would have said something, right guys!!

Alan

So if l have hurt you in any way, l'm sorry and l have never told anyone not to buy any particular vette, but just listen and then make their own decision.

Alan

p.s. To think about it if you think l'm out of line here you should read what l say in the C5 for sale forum.

Not out of line

You certainly did not offend me as I tend to agree with many of your comments. You just seemed to me to be a little overly exhuberant about bursting someones bubble while stating you were not trying to do so.
No offense meant by my post. I enjoy all the info and interesting reading here.
best to all

My First vette/LT4 section

HI

First of all you are one of the few that were lucky enough or smart enough to have picked up a LT4 that in itself l commend you on your choice.

I am sure you hang out in the LT4 forums which l understand and very sorry that l do not have a LT4 to break your chops with.

When you get a chance check the new thread about a 19 year old just getting his first vette and it was a LT4 in torch red.

In this case the price didn't matter because nobody on this earth was going to deter him unless they had a shotgun, not that he didn't get a good deal it was his first vette.

Alan

kingman,

I dont know, maybe posted wrong but I dont know of anybody including myself that would pass on a 96 for 13,000. That is if I had the money and wanted it. Especially with 30k miles. I see 88's and 89's with 50k to 60k go for between 10,000 and 11,500 or so. Me personally I think the 95 for 11,500 is a steal, providing it checks out okay. Maybe we are in totally different markets due to location.

Craig

I have to agree, If I had the money I would definetly be looking at this hard, as I am sure other people are by the posts. 72,000 Miles is not a lot it is only around 9000 miles a year. Congrats to whoever gets this.

Another Look!

Hi

First of all l said 30,000miles less which equates to 42,000 miles, and as far as my comment about $13,000, that's really all it's worth at this time of the year in the north east. Forget that it is in excellent condition with a couple of small flaws which are meaningless and that it has not caused me to shell out any money besides normal routine dealer maint. Run flats were taken off and the light was on so l took the fuse out. The analog temp gauge goes wild but the digital one works. Dealer fix (under $100)

A 95 with 72,000 miles brings less then $10,000 at auction if it sells because of the high mileage no matter how old it is in the C4 class. When a vehicle hits 72,000 miles very few if any dealers will take it in an offer a warranty of any kind unless it is a 30day warranty.

If the 95 had 40/50,000 miles then maybe he would have a shot, not to say that he wouldn't be able move it privately with 72,000 miles. There happens to be enough home grown mechanics that could care less unless the car was in excellent condition.

Now the term excellent condition covers a wide spectrum and means different things to different people. I remember looking at a 96 that was supposed to be in excellent condition and when l saw it l went crazy because it had flaws all over the interior and exterior. When l said that he misrepresented his car his reply was "well for a 96 it was in excellent condition". If l didn't turn around and leave it would have gotten real ugly. And that was a 2 hour drive there and two hours back. This is a common problem with the word excellent.

As l have mentioned l have judged vettes and feel l know what is excellent and what is not.

When a vette needs new rubberstripping, seats, carpets, tires right off the bat your are looking at mucho bucks.

The age of a car is as important as the mileage and where the car is kept and how it's been maintained.

That is why l would never buy a vette at auction. Low mileage is only one indicator but when the mileage reaches a certain number and you want to keep it, it then becomes important.

Anyway as March approaches the price's will rise once again, but l will not being realistic get more then $14,000, but l will try anyway. At least the person buying my vette will get a problem free car, so l hope a friend or relative takes it. All of my cars that l have sold were to people l know and have never had a person come back to me with a gripe.

Alan

If I had the money and the car checked out I would buy it. Neglect is worse then abuse, I would rather have a car with 75 thousand miles that has been maintained then a car with 40 thousand miles that hasnt been. There are a lot of miles left on that car to someone who wants a Corvette to drive, not to resell and make a buck. That is my opinion.

Justin

Better hurry up....

Guess you are right. I better sell by noon time or it will be worth even less.
I'll take 7500 if you come by noon and willing to take 6500 after that. If I don't sell this week, I'll give you a couple bucks to haul it outta here.
Now, my house... at this rate it will be worth 11 million by the time I retire. I am set.

If you really want to see what people are willing to pay for a vette in this condition as per say I would check out Ebay. It is usually a good barometer of net value and selling prices for most vettes at the current time.
