1995 White Coupe
Hey guys, if anyone can help, I know its the readers of this forum. Anyway, I have a 95 coupe with a mere 44k on the clock. Runs great, most of the time. It started setting a "H48" code indicating MAF sensor. I used some over the counter meds on it (MAF sensor cleaner spray) from Autozone. It helped for a while. When it sets the code, the car falls flat on its face, then runs fine for a while. Sometimes it will stall when at idle. I tried replacing it with a used unit from Ebay. It made it much worse and the light stays lit constantly. Do I need a new MAF or is there something I'm missing? These things are pretty damn pricey and I'd hate to replace it if it isn't the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks alot.

I don't own a 94 but I think I have seen that there is a relay or a pair of relays for the MAF .

figure if I give the thread a bump more will see it.

Thanks for the quick answer. Hmmm relay, I think I do remember reading about one, turns on the wires inside the sensor to heat them. Anyone know where this relay might be located so I can check it? Thanks again.

Are you running an oiled air filter, such as K&N ?
I have read over oiling play heck with the MAF.

I am running a K&N. I heard the same thing and that's why I've been cleaning it, but most recently I cleaned it and lasted less then one day before it was acting up again. So I'm thinking either it is finally about fried, (need a new one) or it is something else, like maybe a faulty relay. I may switch back to the factory filter and see if it makes any difference, but I seem to recall it acting up before I even installed the K&N. Thanks again for the suggestions.
