I read the posts I could find on this subject, but looking for more help. Any more tips on removing the fuel filter? I can break the fitting on the inlet side, but can not for the life of me loosen the fitting on top. Not enough room to get leverage. Is there a special wrench? Even so, how do you get leverage on it? I've been looking and it doesn't look like I can remove anything to get to it either.

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet is to use a line wrench, also known as a flare-nut wrench.

Disconnect the fuel line on top & pop it out of the little keeper that's holding the two lines. That will give you enough slack to get a wrench on the other side.

Froggy, when you say on top, do you mean up where the two lines pass over the intake plenum? I'm having the same problem as Chetzki.

Thanks!

Yes. They are quick release, you need a standard fuel line tool to release them, avail at pep boys etc.

Only need to release the feed one, not return. The one with the filter on it. Also the clip on the pass side inner fender area.

Watch the gas:)

This will give you a little slack & you'll be able to r&r the other filter fitting.

It's still not easy, but it'll go.

:o Sorry guys, I didn't realize y'all had the new-fangled type of connectors. A line wrench doesn't do you guys any good, eh? :L

I found the easiest way to be first remove the easy lower end. Then put a fitting wrench on the upper fitting, not the filter hex. Use a crows foot on the lower filter hex and turn the filter while holding the upper fitting, mine came right out.

Good luck
