My 96 blows air only through the Defrost/Floor vents regardless of what buttons are pushed. Any help would be appreciated on where to start.;)

:cool!: Thanks. I knew I had seen a thread but didn't find it. Bad searching methods I guess. I'll hunt for the Programmer and see where that leads.

The '96 programmer was only made for this year.

The connector has several rubber nipples which are made of a very flimsy rubber. The end of the nipples collapse and prevents the vacuum from entering the programmer.

The fix is to remove the programmer. Snip off just a very little bit of the end of the nipple. Reinstall the connector with a bolt and nut.

The bolt and nut are used to replace the "push-on washer" which does not keep enough pressure on the connector.

Start snipping AFTER you've confirmed worn out vacuum hoses...

Thanks, I'm sure I don't have enough room for my "BIG" saw;LOL

AC Programmer PITA

Hello Corvette fans, first timer here, this is a great site and you folks are spot on with your knowledge and helpful hints in fixing stuff. I got to tell you I spent the weekend trying to get the main vacuum conection of the ac programmer box. Finally gave up. I was going to cut the vacuum lines and added longer lines to gain access. That push nut those idiot engineers put on really is a pain. Tried all your tricks but just ciuldn't gain access to the little POS.

Thanks for all your advise, maybe some day in the future i'll tackle the task again.

Quick question is your cruse also acting up? If so look for this vacuum valve under the cover on the right side of the engine. One vacuum line goes to the cruse and the other goes to the heater.

AC Programmer

Got a new one being delivered on Monday. I removed the one currently on and there was a swosh of air when I removed it. I'll see Monday evening if this is the issue or the programmer.

Check Valve replacement

So, my diagnostic challenges continue and the AC programmer is looking more like the issue. I replaced the passenger side vacuum check valve and the system is stil blowing through the defrrost and floor. Looks like the ac programmer will be a weekend project after all.

Is splicing the vacuum lines on the main connection still an option? if I can't remove the push nut?
