Well I am entering the 94 today in my first car show. It's just a local little show here in town. I've been putting the spit and polish to her for the last few days. I'll let you all know how it goes later. And will try to get a few pictures posted as well.

I drove up to a local car show sponsored by NAPA just to look about three weeks ago. The guy at the table encouraged me to enter my car. It was clean, I only needed to be there 2 hours so I went for it. $10 entry fee that was matched by NAPA and given to the local fire department and the gift bag they gave me had a lot of useful things in it.

Anyway, that's the only show I've entered. There was a lot of interest in my car and the engine compartment. Hey - It's a cool car! Of course I didn't win anything up against people who spent a lot of time and money restoring their cars, but it was a good experience.

Good luck, Tom. We respect your care for and knowledge of your Vette and know that you did a first rate prep.
:w

:) Enjoy the day, the cars and the people,
thats what car shows are all about.:)

I guys, it's all over. There was 1 other Corvette a 1979 coupe. They had several classes but I wasn't sure which one fit so I chose "Stock". Total of 45 cars, trucks and motorcycles.

I didn't win anything show car wise, but there was lots of interest in the vette when I had the hood up. The clamshell get's them. They had drawings for the drivers and I did win the top prize for that a Pulsar wrist watch donated by a local jewelry store supposedly worth $200.

I was beat out in my class by a 1967 Chevelle SS 396, one beautiful restoration. And a 1964 Imapala SS hardtop. Both very nice cars.

Anyway it was a great experience.

Daayuuum, you did better than me :L I went to my first "get together" barbeque about three weeks ago. There were a hundred vettes, mass C5's, a couple C6's, and some nice earlier gens, real nice ones.

I hung out, roamed around, didn't spend much time around my car, and during the awards I was talking to this guy about Tia brides (I think), specifically his, all the sudden I heard my name. I had no idea why but I headed up to the podium protesting theat I hadn't been listening and didn't know what the award was for.

I got handed a pretty nice plaque for the "I can't drive 55" award ;LOL Apparently all the judges saw the rubber on my rear quarters from the track, my underhood "improvements", and my openroad racing.com decal which is quite inconspicuous just above the trailer hitch, ;LOL yellow on white :confused

This is all over some WAY nice cars including 5, count em, I mean 5 ZR1's, 4 black and one red (highly moded)of Jeff's who is a member here :W There's a pic of these cars on a ZR1 website somewhere but I don't recall the URL, maybe NWZr1's or something.

If I'd have been quick enough when I got up there and found out what the award was for Ida asked them how they got ahold of my recent driving record :cool ;LOL ;LOL

Here's a picture of the two Corvettes at the show. We are in the shade, it was 101*, everybody was looking for the shade. Thank goodness for the western Kansas breeze (20-25mph), or it would have been miserable.
