1st Corvette-Climate Control Readout?

I just purchased my first Corvette (2003 Blue Convertible). Why did I wait 62 years??? Love it but I have one small problem that maybe somebody can help me with. When I adjust the climate control (in the daytime) I cannot see the info. The dark shield over the info blocks it. I turned the brightness knob as high as it will go. Is there more than one bulb/led and perhaps burned out? Any suggestions/comments?
