In a previous post I talked about my fans only coming on for a few seconds at a time. This weekend I replaced the all the relays and fuses in engine compartment fuse box that had anything to do with cooling fans. Now they run at "low speed" when a/c is on, when car gets close to 200 degrees they seem to go to "high speed" for a few seconds, then cut off. With a/c not on, they just do the "high speed" at 200 thing, but still only stay on a few seconds.

Is this normal? Are they supposed to be variable-speed fans (could not find info on this in manual)? If so, at what temperature do they come on and stay on without a/c on?

Thanks!!
Lauren

P.S. If you need relays, check PepBoys or AutoZone - they were $ 9.00 to $ 13.00 there, as opposed to $ 26.99 to $ 29.99 at dealership for same relays!

HI there,
There are many different reasons for the low or high speeds to be fuctioning.
Honestly, as long as you are getting correct cooling, and the AC works correctly, I would leave it alone.
If I were a betting man, I would suggest checking the AC pressures for correct function and charge.
Your fan function is also dictated by AC.
