I know I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure out what it is. How do I reset things like mileage and trip odometers on my dash? The "reset" button doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a particular state the car has to be in? (Ignition on, or car running, or clutch in?)

76Eldo,
The 'reset' button from your set of DIC control buttons should be all you need. I just did a two day road trip up to Washington state last week, and as long as the engine was running (so that the DIC was being displayed) I could toggle between the trip-mileage clock, average miles-per-gallon, average speed, and 'reset' would correct all of these back to zero after I filled up with fuel.

I will say, however, that sometimes the reset button needs to be hit more than once to get it to do the job you want it to do.

I just push the reset button. But I think I know what you are talking about, my 03 Bonneville acts that way sometimes. I think that it has to do with the button itself.

PHP:
I have to hold my reset button for a count or two to clear things off.
Bingo! That's the answer - don't just push it, hold it down for a second or so and you should see the info clear.

Yea, but if his Vette acts like the wife's Bonneville, sometimes it just doesn't want to work. I can hold that little booger for a minute and it won't reset. Next time It might reset right away. I think there is an issue with the button.

Toms01, I can't agree more!! I just hate it when you have to hold that little booger for more than a minute before you can finally flick it off!!!;LOL

Thank you all. It seems I have both the "sometimes just won't work" and "Have to hold the reset button for 5 seconds" problems.

I appreciate all the helpful input. :)
