The bulb burns out after a couple of weeks, suspect the socket is the cause. Went to a local Chevy dealer, new socket goes for $60.00. Is there another socket that can be used say from Autozone, ect.?

Thanks Tstar :-)
I've been looking for exactly that kind of stuff for a project I'm doing.

Are you using the correct bulb? Due to the high heat generated by the daytime running light operation, the bulb must be a "high temperature" bulb or it will fail quickly.

The GM part number for the correct front bulb is #12450182.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
