My wife's 02 Z06 has the stock Goodyears all the way around. It has excessive tire noise from the rear, especially when driving on concrete. The car only has 9000 miles on it. Could the tires be bad? (maybe a broken belt in one of the tires). Any help will be appreciated.

I could not conduct a normal conversation in my Z06 on the highway due to tire noise. I installed a partition and did the Frost King modification.

See: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65740

The Frost King made a huge difference, and the partition helps as well.

I also went with Michelin Pilot Sports when the tires wore out. They were quieter, but it isn't really fair to compare new tires with old.

I, also, experienced noise from the rear of my Z06. Like DRTH VTR I installed the partition and it quieted the majority of the noise coming from the tires/roadway. I also have the Michelin PS2's on my car and they are alot quieter than the stock F1 Supercars. The OEM Good Years on my Z were good for 18k miles and I started noticing road noise alot more after about 10k miles on them.

I have 15K on my 04 Z06 and road noise seems to be pretty acceptable. It keeps most passengers from trying to carry on conversations. Between the tires and the titanium exhaust there just isn't room for much more...:D:D
