Hello.

A few years back a purchased my Z06 and replaced my H-pipe with the Corsa X-Pipe. I like the fact that the jingle sound is gone but I am not happy with the exaust note. I loved how loud the original H-Pipe was. I purchased a lightly used H-Pipe a year ago just so I would have it for originality.

My question is do all the H-pipes jingle? I would love to get that old rip-roar exaust back .. but I cannot stand the jingle. Is there a chance that my pipe would be OK?

Thanks,
Pat

HI there,
You simply need to check to see if its the revised H pipe.
If its for your 2003, then if its with the converters, yes it most likely will jingle.
If you have the replacement H pipe that GM came out with, you will be fine.

THe H-pipe is one piece with 1 cat on each side. It was a stock takeoff from a 2003 Z06. I assume this means it will jingle?

Lets try it again.....I have a 04 Comm Ed ZO6

DAMM KEYBOARD !! My 04 jingles/rattles. Should I have the "new style" your talking about ? And it seems like I hear a lot more exhaust noise since I got my car back from the dealer after having some warranty oil leaks fixed in the rear.

I replaced my factory H-Pipe with the Corsa X-Pipe. You actually have to cut the factory H-pipe behind the converters and replace that section with the X-Pipe. It does stop the jingle sound but the exhaust note is not as loud.

I believe the GM update is the same thing as the X-Pipe. I believe the service bulletin tells you to cut the pipe and replace a section of it. I was also told that section is the Corsa item.

HI there,
The 04 Z16, probably not a jingle issue, but I would have your dealership address the noise concern. The alignment of the exhaust is critical to how it dampens noise.
The sectioned replacement is an H pipe as of this writing and its a GM unit.

Thanks for the info. I'm bringing it back to the dealer for a long punch list and will have them inspect the work they have done around the exhaust.

I have the "jingle" in my 2002 ZO6. What about the H pipe causes it? What are the physics of this?

Hey guys i just bought a 2003 Yellow Z06 Vette, i love it. I am not sure if you guys are talking about what im thinking but is it when you shut the car off it rattles and jingles a little? If thats it what do i have to do to get rid of it, and if this is not what you guys are talking about can someone plz tell me what this might be, the car just had the tranny/clutch rebuilt.

sorry for jacking this thread a little..

I've read threads about the tranny rattle before.. its more intense when the car is in nuetral. I always left the car in reverse when I shut it down, then I put it in nuetral "what a difference" cant explain it though..
I think the original topic though is refering to the exhaust tones..
