The theme for the Bloomington Gold special collection in 2004 will be Callaways and hopefully Revees will be the guest of honor. There are 19 slots and already some special cars have come forth. I will make sure to post contacts here whenever the organizer wants suggestions. Would sure like to get the one that sat on the pole at Le Mans some years ago.

Tyler, kindly let us know some of the background on how Callaway was selected for Bloomington. I'm quite curious myself! :beer Thanks!

The guy who does the SC likes them and chose the theme as he does for every year.

I hope Bloomington Gold 2004 is in St. Charles again, it is nice having it 10min from my house :D

I finally caught up with the gentleman who is in charge of the Bloomington Special Collection - As you know, Callaway Corvettes are the Special Collection for 2004 and I am sure that everyone is as excited about it as me :)

While we discussed the show, I walked down the row of Callaways a bit & briefly described some of them to him.

I know that a few Speedsters have been invited as well as the Twin Turbo Race car from the Supercar series :cool In addition to this, Marks GS (FXGS) was recognized and he is planning to attend.

If you are interested in being part of this historical event with your Callaway on display, please let me know if you would be able to travel to the show in St. Charles, IL click for map

Bloomington Gold is a very special show and the Special Collection would provide coverage on a unique level - possible articles, etc. on the "Collection Cars"

Please send me an e mail if you can attend and would like more info - Selections will be made by February :m
Thanks! Chris

Yes, Callaways EVERYWHERE!!! In addition to the "Special Display" Callaways, and area for additional Callaways will be there & the Callaway Cars company has been provided details of this as of now :)

...stay tuned

89x2...I just talked this over with my wife. If we still have the TT by that time I am going to make a very determined effort to drive there. This is a driving car with lots of chips and road wear. Do you have any idea of the time frame? This is probably the closest a Callaway event will ever be to Washington State. Is it possible there will be too many cars for the allocated spots? I would hate to drive all that way and then not get to park with my fellow Callaway owners.

Tim, There are appx. 19 slots for the *Special Display* however, there will be additional spaces provided for Callaway Corvettes in nearby areas - I hope to see your Callaway there, One way or another :m

FYI

I am putting on the final touches for the "Presentation of Candidates" for this event that is sure to a once in a lifetime deal :upthumbs

If you have not provided me with your Callaways specifics and are interested in this, and can attend, please e mail me promptly at turbo_2xs@hotmail.com

Also, if there are ANY details that you would like to ensure that is included, drop me a note - Thanks!

What do you mean by "Presentation of Candidates"?

INVITATION: Special Collection XX in 2004

The Corvettes of Reeves Callaway

Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA proudly presents the performance Corvettes of Reeves Callaway as our 2004 Special Collection XX.

Reeves Callaway is an automotive enthusiast, race driver, engineer and car constructor. Starting with European cars, his super-tuning and turbo-charging gave the extra performance owners and manufacturers were demanding. His first mark on Corvette came in 1987 with Option #B2K, a 345HP twin-turbo full engine modification made to the production car by Callaway. That was just the beginning!

Special Collection XX will present the history of the Callaway Corvette by showing you the production-based cars, the racing cars, and the very special C7, C12, LeMans, SuperNatural and Speedster series Callaway cars. A very special "Special Collection" indeed!

AN INVITATION: Bloomington Gold has always extended an open invitation to Corvette owners for future Special Collection events. If you own a Callaway Corvette, and would like to be considered for Special Collection XX, please send photos, copies of documentation, and a brief history to: William Locke, Event Director, PO Box 459, Huntsville, NC 28070.
