2004 C5 Commemorative

My deal included $3000 in rebates, $3200 in cash back, plus additional discounts. :D Depends on how bad the dealer wants to sell the car as to what they are willing to do. Find a dealer that has an imagination, and there's no telling what they can do to make the numbers work for you. ;)
I always thought rebates and cash back were the same beast?
Anyway, I have called a few dealers in the Dallas area and they only want to come down $8-10K inc the $3K rebate. I think they are just shy or playing hard to get. When I make a decision on the one I want I will just offer them $12K off MSRP and see if they bite. ;)

Invoice??????????????????

Forget the invoice because it means nothing but a starting point. Dealers make the bulk of their money on their rebates and financing.

The invoices they show customers are before they are discounted with rebates that you will never see, so when a dealer tells you he is showing you the invoice it means nothing.

The 50th AE is not a special edition because of how many were sold. They are not rare by no means and if you like the AE make sure you get a decent discount in line with the other 04's.

FWIW, there's a CE coupe in NJ I saw on GMBuyPower.com. It has magnetic ride control, both tops, 6-speed. I used the "get a quote" thing and they responded with a quote of $42,300, which is about $10k off MSRP. This includes the $3k from GM. They also noted it's a "demo" with 5,000 miles on it. To me, that means it's a used car.

Anyway, I replied back to say I wasn't interested as 5,000 miles isn't a new car, and that price isn't all that great. They then said they'd let it go for $40,600.

I'm not interested in a demo, if I were I'd just look at used cars and pay a lot less. I don't find that price overly attractive, but thought you might be interested in what they were selling one for. :w
