I'm not sure if I've asked before. About a year ago, I noticed my oil pressure gauge acting erratic. Sometimes it would read 0, sometimes it would peg past 80. I notice that when this happens, during restart the gauge does not reset back to 0 before reading.

Ok, so I've dealt with that issue, the other day I noticed my tach, moving very strange. It was consistent with engine speed, but instead of transitioning smoothly, it was very jerky.

My dad borrows my truck today, and calls me that the speedo says he's traveling 90, and he is sitting still at a light. I've researched the issue a bit, and it seems these trucks are prone to dash instrument problems. There have been many TSB's.

My question is, at 7 years old, and 63k miles, what are my options. Will the dealer cover the repairs under a recall? Anyone have any experience?

Thanks

You will get better results on a truck site not on a Corvette site.

Call your favorite Chevy dealer
and see if there are any recalls on this
if there are TSB's the problem is known to chevy...

I have a customer that both their Tahoe's instrument clusters were replaced under warranty because of this same problem!~!! (03,07):thumb

guage cluster

yes there is a recall on the gauge cluster. 7 year 70,000 mile. Had both my 03 silverado and my 04 gmc sierra replaced for free. Call the dealer and give them your vin #.

Well, my truck is under the mileage requirement, but 10 days past the time requirement ;squint:

The dealership will cover the cost of the cluster, but I will be responsible for labor. 90 bucks. I guess it could have been much worse.
