My 2004 has a problem with the interior lamps remaining on forever. Includes all the gages, the lamps under the rear view mirror, the A.C. Driver and passenger temperature knobs, the controls in both doors, two rear lamps, etc. etc. Current draw at battery is 5.8 Amps when new battery is charged to 13.2 Volts. Checked a couple fuses, fine. ACTRON CP9125 reveals no codes. Battery will be discharged by morning. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Yeah, that's odd. The car has a battery-saver feature that should extinguish all the lights if they've been on for something like 15 minutes or so -- even if a door is left open or the 'dome' light switch is turned on...

It would be better to pull the codes through the DIC. This link will coach you through it:

Pulling Codes on a C5

Let us know what codes come up on the DIC. Good luck!

First make sure the interior light control has not been turned all the way up. If that's not the case then, "timfitz63" is right. Use the C5's on-board diagnostics to get any BCM codes.

Your Actron only reads ECM codes.

The BCM likely controls those lights. If you find no codes there, check door switches. Also, I'd read the Factory Service Manual's wiring info to see what devices control the interior lighting. It is possible that one or more of them is faulty.

Also, the FSM will likely have a diagnostic section on "interior lighting staying on."

If you don't have a factory service manual, with any serious DIY needs, you can get them from CAC sponsor Zip Products.
