Don't know about everyone else, but I like the 2005 C6 steering wheel. I like to place my hand in the middle @ the bottom of the steering wheel.

I would think the 2006 C6's would be built with the same steering wheel the 2006 Z06 is built with. Can't really see different steering wheels being used on the same model year.

Thanks to Rain, I see that Pop-N-Fresh Dude's Head when I look @ a 2005 C6 steering wheel. :SLAP

I don't know about wanting to drive with one hand holding the bottom of the wheel! I still drive with my hands at 10 and 2 so I'am ready for anything!;)

Been a long time since driver's ed . . .

When I'm ready to let the horses run:Steer I hit 10/2, but just kruzin down the interstate there ain't much 10/2 going on!

does anyone know when photos, options, and specs of the '06 will be released? base car that is not Z06?

When I open her up I just keep 10, because my 2 hand is going through the gears. ;)

I think the steering wheel on the C6 is the ugliest thing on the car. It is too cheap looking: another GM blunder of 'robbing' parts from other divisions, or even Chevy to save a buck!! The steering wheel on the new Z06 is what the steering wheel is SUPPOSE to be on the new Corvette!!! I love the new C6, but the steering wheel has GOT to be changed. It is a deal breaker. The other sore eye: paint the CMSL housing to match the body. I would gladly pay for both of those options if they were offered to me.

well, let's hope the Z06 steering wheel ends up on the base 06....the brakes are kinda nice too, and the flares, and the.......

One of the reason for the new steering wheel is that you are not supposed to do the 10-2 steering anymore. The airbag in a deployment will break your arms. Personally I like the new wheel. But everybody has an opinion.

huh?

I understand the airbag/hand position statement but I don't understand how the new wheel helps with this. Neither wheel enforces a non 10-2 hand position.

Current thinking is to keep hands at 9 and 3.

This is what is being taught at the GM Proving Grounds driving programs.

I don’t know about the steering wheel but I sure would like to have that on board computer. It would be cool to get the internet on it so I could surf around anytime. You could even put a mobile modem on it so that it would work at star bucks. I bet it will be an option very soon.

Yeah, they now tell us 8 and 4 is the way to steer. I think it has to do with air bags ripping your arms off upon deployment.
