Help, I have just purchased a 2005 Coupe. Today, in my garage, I was unable to open either door. When I pressed the release switch, the red security light would come on, and the doors would not open. I tried various locations around the car to see if it was a reception issue, no luck so I used the key to open the hatch, which in turn activated the alarm. Now, an hour later, I cannot get the car to start, etc. I do hear some activity when I press the start button, but it will not start. I also noticed that when I used the emergency door release in the hatch area, the window does not index down, so now I cannot even close it. FOB battery 3 volts, battery at 12.5 v. Any suggestions before I call the dealer to get it?

There is a slot in the glove box that you should be able to slide the fob into and then try pressing the start button. Look in your owners manual under NO FOBS DETECTED. I have a 2007 and the information is located on page 220-221, not sure if the 05 manual is the same. Also make sure that you do not have a cell phone charger plugged in.

i had this happpen to me a last year and everything worked as the manual describes. A couple of weeks ago the car would not detect the fob to unlock the doors. So, I did as you did by opening the hatch with the key, opening the door with the release cble, but then the fob was recognized and the car started, but the alarm was sounding until it started.

NO FOBS DETECTED
This message displays if the vehicle does not
detect the presence of a keyless access
transmitter when you have attempted to start the
vehicle or a vehicle door has just closed. The
following conditions may cause this message to
appear:
• Driver-added equipment plugged into the
accessory power outlet on the center console
is causing interference. Examples of these
devices are cell phones and cell phone
chargers, two-way radios, power inverters, or
similar items. Try moving the keyless
access transmitter away from these devices
when starting the vehicle. In addition,
PDA devices and remote garage and gate
openers may also generate Electromagnetic
Interference (EMI) that may interfere with
the keyless access transmitter. Do not carry
the keyless access transmitter in the same
pocket or bag as these devices.
• The vehicle is experiencing Electromagnetic
Interference (EMI). Some locations, such as
airports, automatic toll booths, and some
gas stations have EMI fields which may
interfere with the keyless access transmitter.
220
If moving the transmitter to different locations
within the vehicle does not help, place the
transmitter in the glove box transmitter pocket
with the buttons facing to the right and then
press the START button.
• The vehicle’s battery voltage is low. The
battery voltage must be above 10 volts for the
keyless access transmitter to be detected properly.

Good Luck!!

I tried that already. When I place the fob in the slot, the Inst Cluster is blank. I get a clicking from the car when i hit the start button, but the DIC never shows any message. I also have no accessory power, headlights, etc. The car seems dead. Any further help would be greatly appreciated

Your best bet is to........................
OPEN the Hood,Disconnect the Battery,
And CHARGE the Battery!!!:thumb
The Damned thing is DEAD!!! :D

PS Don't forget to Index the windows when your done!!:thumb

Thanks, but the battery shows 12.2 volts right now. When I hit the Start Button, everything wakes up, but I still have now power to doors, lights, radio, etc. I can't get the car to do anything.

Thanks anyway.

Clean and inspect the battery cables,It takes a 10 MM wrench and a regular battery post cleaner!! Clean both battery post's and the cable end clamps!! You may have 12.2 V,but not a good enough connection to get the amperage it takes to start and run the car!! There are allot of Micro Computers,Relays and Solenoids in that bad boy!:thumb:thumb:thumb
I've had a few C6's here at my shop act the same way as yours, every time was either a Corroded Battery Connection,Bad Battery with a Floating Plate or just simply a Dis-charged Battery!!:thumb:thumb:thumb

Thanks, I am charging the battery now just to be safe. I noticed that all of the lights seem very bright, and when I turn them on with a volt meter connected, i only see a .3 volt drop. But I have seen stranger things. I hope it is this simple...

OK, I just tried a new Battery, believe it or not. Had one from another car we sold, anyway, no luck there. I'm wondering if I can try a key fob reprogam. The method that erases all previous fobs? But I don't know if the car has to be working for that to take effect...

Im having the same problem, it has been starting all day. I got in my 05 vette after eating and pushed the start button. All the lights came on but the car did not start. I was on a hill so I rolled down it to bump start it in 2nd gear and it started rite up. I got home and shut of the engine, and pushed the button to see if it would start and nothing. I can hear the ignition turn on but the engine will not turn over. I tried doing the FOB in the clove box and it still wont work. I now have disconnected the battery and put a charger on it so now I will wait and hope for the best. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your starter could be bad. Starter or starter solenoid. It may be a fancy smancy push button starting system but that starter design hasn't changed in over 50 years.

Good luck with it.

(I hate it when I respond to a 2 or 3 year old thread. Stoopid me!!!!
