Help! 2005 Manual intermittent starting problems

Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone here would have any idea what is wrong with my car. Every few days for the past couple weeks the car won't start when I push the start button. All the accessories will turn on but that's it. there are no starter clicking sounds or anything. A couple times I have been able to wiggle the steering wheel and that would work I have seen the "service column lock" on the dash before, but this time this wasn't the case. I have taken it to the dealer three times now and they say the car won't fail for them so they can't find anything wrong. They have load tested the battery and it was fine. I have changed the batteries in my key fob. I have switched fuses around to rule that out too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John

I forgot to mention, the only way I can get the car to start is to disconnect the battery.

I have had the same "problem" for years, and I still think it's has to do with the Steering Column Lock and Battery Voltage!
The dealer is no help.

I got it fixed last month. The dealer replaced the "steering column lock" assembly and so far no more problems. It sounds better when you go to start the car and you hear the motor moving smoother and swifter. I had an extended warranty at that covered it. If your out of warranty there are links online to show you how to replace it yourself. It did not look too difficult, maybe an afternoon job. Good luck with yours! Now off to work on my next project with it, the interior.
