Rob,

Any idea when GM will update their website so we can build a vette with the '07 pricing?

Does it really matter?????

What did GM do to the 07 dfferent then to the 05/06? Any new upgrades, more ponies.

Heaven forbid a better front license plate holder. This is such an easy fix but l'm sure that being as arrogant as they are they feel that a first time buyer wouldn't know the difference.

The one thing that l have noticed is that the surcharges have been gone for awhile and the discounts are up to $5500. The used car market didn't show any respect for the new body yet except for the Z-06.

Alan

PS I feel better now!!!!!!!!!!

May I ask where it is that you notice this?

New York Sunday Times

Automotive section, there are two dealers and one l believe is Kerbeck in Atlantic City, New Jerset. They do have a site. In Autoweek l also noticed discounts and l would also check the C6 forum.

Alan

PS My neighbor arond the corner picked up an 05 coupe and paid $5000 over MSRP 6 months after it came out and had to say thank you and it came with the ugly front plate. He never owned one before and never showed his dislike of the plate.

From another vette forum:

*new atomic orange paint replacing Daytona Orange
*CROSS DRILLED ROTORS on F55 suspensions!
*steering wheel AUDIO controls available, 2 & 3LT pkgs
*on star for Z06 (2LZ only)
*new keyless transmitter with intergrated key
*power top on all 3LT convertibles
*larger glove box
*two tone seats with stitched cross flags (red/titanium & cashmere)
*Acoustic Package to reduce road noise pkg, Included on 2LZ Z06
*bose audio enhancements!

As for pricing, it usually comes out about the time the first cars are delivered.

Nice but not enough to warrant buying an 07 when they are giving such deep discounts on 06's.

I'm not so sure about that. The deep discounts available now on '06 versions are because they are virtually leftovers at this point given that '07 production begins on 6/27. The deep discount of the '06 versus the normal discount that will be available through some dealers on the '07's is probably about equal to the difference in blue book values from one year to the next. It's my opinion that if you are planning to hold the car 5 years or less it's best to wait for an '07. If you're planning on holding on to the car longer than that, the '06 with the deep discounts would be the way to go.

Good Point !!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a lot of sense but the only thing that will make waves is when they either replace the front bumper or an aftermarket company comes out with something!

Remember the 2000 polished wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan

Kingman,

I feel your pain! :mad Fortunately for me I live in Delaware which means I don't need to display a front license plate.

There are aftermarket front plate holders that are a lot less intrusive and better looking. Nothing will make a front plate on a C6 look great, but you can get less ugly than the factory mount.

I asked on the GM website when the '07 pricing would be available on their website. Here's what they said:

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and for your interest in the Chevrolet Corvette! The Corvette is scheduled to begin production on 6/27/06. Although, we do not have a specific time frame the site will be updated with 2007 product information, it is traditionally around the same week the vehicle begins production. The reason for this is, the vehicle has not gone into production all information is considered preliminary and subject to change. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

To obtain more information regarding the Corvette, please visit www.chevrolet.com or contact your preferred dealership. While you are at the dealership, we recommend you take a test drive. There is nothing like a test drive to help make that ultimate purchase decision!

So I asked the following question in reply:

I guess the question boils down to this. Are you taking orders for '07
Corvettes currently and if so will my dealer have the pricing now?

Their reply was:

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet. We appreciate your interest in the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette! Dealers generally begin taking orders for new model years two to four weeks prior to production. Please contact your Chevrolet dealer for information on the ordering process and on pricing availability.

For more updates regarding the Corvette, please continue to visit www.chevrolet.com or contact your preferred dealership to schedule a test drive. If you are not familiar with a local Chevrolet dealer, you may locate one under 'Dealer Locator' at the same address.

If you need additional information or have further questions, please let us know via email or by calling Chevrolet at 1-800-950-2438, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time, seven days a week. Thank you for contacting Chevrolet!

I think there might be an answer to my question in there somewhere. :D I'm pretty sure they meant to write "don't ask us, ask your dealer".

One more time. Pricing traditionally is released about the time the first new year vettes arrive at the dealership. Many buyers at the beginning of the year don't even have a factory sticker listing prices, just installed options. An updated sticker with prices is Fedexed to the dealer, as Federal law won't let the dealer sell the car without it. You just have to make the deal with reference to how much off (or above :ugh ) MSRP, and finalize the figures at delivery time. That's the price you pay for getting one of the first cars of the model year.
