Replaced with 'Atomic Orange' ?

Rob--
Do you know why the DSOM is being discontinued? Is there a problem with the quality or durability of the color? If it is due to low sales, why did our poll show such high numbers of would-be DSOM buyers?

I am very glad I got my DSOM car before it goes away. This is an awesome color and I guess this will make my car a rare find in the future.

Do you know the reason why they are discontinuing the Orange? I really like it but don't want to buy one if the color has been unpopular.

Appreciate any reply you can give. Thanks.

I HAVE A SUNSET/CASHMERE ON ORDER. LOOKED AT ALL THE 'STANDARD' COLORS...SUNSET JUST JUMPED OUT AT ME. I WAS ALWAYS A RED/TAN MAN...BUT I WILL LOVE MY SUNSET AND AM GLAD IT IS BEING DISCONTINUED...PERHAPS WILL BECOME A MORE VALUABLE COLOR DOWN THE ROAD AT RESALE TIME...

Not sure why. My guess would be sales figures or else maybe a paint defect (but haven't seen any problems with my paint). I am trying to get some information from the administrator (Rob) since Corvette is not likely to bother communicating with mere consumers, but no answer yet.

Well Gersh -- you and all the others on this and the other forums have talked me into it! I picked up one of the last two DSOM manual transmissions, today! What a beautiful car. Everyone on the freeway pauses to look at the color! Thanks for the encouragement. Let's hope this becomes one of the most popular "low density" colors in C6 history!

Great choice! I like mine better all the time. I know you will love it. Enjoy!

Picked up my new sunset orange/cashmere up last tuesday...everyone loves the color...it is especial;ly great in the sunlight...I don`t know why GM choose to call it "orange'...and that may be why it isn`t a high volume color..Most see it and call it copper ... Had i not seen it in person...I was ready to order the Monteray Red...changed my mind after seeing them side by side. I am loving every drive....150 miles this week and enjoying every one!!

Well all have to get the official production numbers for 2005 and 2006. We'll be 1 of x. And x isn't a very big number. See you all at Barrett Jackson in about 25 years!

Buy what you like not what others like. As far as I know there has not been a problem with the paint; I guess it's just not that hot a seller.:cool
