I bought a used (37k miles) 2006 base coupe with an A6 trans (my first Vette) about 3 weeks ago. One thing I've noticed recently is that sometimes when I go from Reverse to Drive, the shifter is "loose" and I can give a very slight push on the shifter and move it to Neutral without pressing the button. The trans doesn't actually disengage from D, however. If I go to Sport first and then to D, then the shifter isn't loose and it stays firmly in D. Also, when I go from D to R, sometimes it doesn't engage in Reverse and I have to move the shifter slightly toward Park first and then to R before it engages. Anyone experienced this before? It's not really causing a problem, more of an annoyance, at this time. But I want to make sure that this isn't a precursor of something more serious about to happen. I did buy a 3-yr GMPP on it. Thanks in advance for any help...

My 06 A6 doesn't do that so I agree with the above - get it checked.
