My money is on Jeff, the Hendrick team is on fire. As far switching to Toyotas, well it would be hard to turn down UNLIMITED funding, but I would have to say no anyway. Keep my ride American, thank you very much.

Have a safe trip in that new '08 vette Steve. er. . . oh yeah, you have to ORDER it first!!! :boogie

I hope you and mini-Matt have a great time. There is nothing like taking your grandson to the races.

Hecox
Took a 4wd truck in case it snowed. We got there at 7am and it was 40 degrees. Had a tail gate party the two of us and had a great day.Race was a little boaring for Louden.

Points standing is now super tight ,only 15 points between 1st and third.I hope it's 15 points between 1st and 12th when Homestead comes up.:D

I agree with you, although part of me in a way doesn't blame JGR for taking up this offer. Toy Yoda was going to do what they had to, to basically buy their way into a top nascar team. Thinking about it from that side, you know a top team is about to have a brazillion dollars thrown at them to keep them successful and wear the ricer badge, might as well be you getting the pot of gold as someone else and the cars are all going to be the same anyways by then.

Can I still pick Toyota Tony?...... ;LOL

I think Gordon will pull his 5th title out this year.

OK - Who's going to win the Nextel Cup Championship this year? ;shrug

Not to be a smart a$$, but it is going to be the guy with the most points at the end of the season.

But remember it is better to be a smart a$$ then a dumb a$$. Just my $0.02.

Spent all weekend at TMS.....man that was a great finish....I think Jimmie's gonna take it again.....

Bah humbug :mad can't wait for this crap to end.

..... it seems you aren't alone.....

" ..... it may come down to the last laps at the last race to crown our prince.

But do you care?

..... from the buckets of email I have received the last two weeks is a resounding NO.

And not because you hate the current state of NASCAR (although there was plenty of that in the emails) but because you couldn’t care less about which Hendrick team wins. It will be a Hendrick team win no matter what and to top it all off, it will between two of the most bland pretty boys in NASCAR today. Either of them will say how great the racing was and how happy they are for their teammate and what an honor it is just to race against each other. And I think therein lies the rub for most fans.

So watch for television ratings to continue its decline the rest of the year"

I'll admit to pretty much being in the "waiting for Daytona" crowd since it's pretty much down to one of the two wonderpunk twins taking home the championship.

I will give credit to Hendrick racing though for figuring out the COT a step ahead of everyone else and you can't think that didn't have a lot to do with having his teams on top at the end of the year. If nobody else get's a grip on that thing during the off season, they'll run away with the trophy next year as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not crying or whining about it being that way, they've done what they needed to stay on top and to me there's no more excuses about cars being different or better or unfair manufacturer advantages. To the other teams out there, get the car figured out! To the other racers.....time to strap in, shut up and drive!

Congrats to whoever wins this years cup, JG or JJ...but I'm ready for Daytona.

Have a choice ,watch todays race or help my wife at a church fair.I'm going to the church fair.

With any luck i'll be at the bud shootout though in Feb.

You know guyz, I grew up in Nascar. I worked with Harvick when he was garage help and was around Junior Johnsons stables when all the greats were there , Waltrip, Marlin, Elliot, Labonte,Bodine, etc.

This new Nascar makes me sick, I just don't watch it anymore.

I turned it on while channel surfing a couple weeks back and saw what looks like ricer spoilers on the cars , whats up with that. The only way they let Petty run the Superbird spoiler was if they were for sale to the general public, just like it was ran on the track thus the name "stock car racing"..

I still have Juniors old shop in NC and still attend the Nascar Christmas party every year there but as far as the racing is concerned, I had rather spend my time watching something closer to real like wrestling. :L

Hey cj5nutz - The Old Days are always remembered as better...

...kind of like Corvettes, old school boys say the older 1's are better than today's.

Sorry, they're just older. If older's is better, what happened to the horse and buggy...

Sure the C2 & C3 had some great lines, but unless they've been modded they ain't running with today's Bad Boy Vette's...
:lou

Watch a few episodes of JuneBug's Back in the Day on Speed - It ain't better, just old school: http://www.speedtv.com/programs/432/

BTW - DW and his FOX NASCAR Boy's blow the ESPN/ABC bunch of NASCAR want-2-b commentators away! ;squint:

With all that said, I hope today's race is a good 1! :cool

Later . . . . . .
