Following the reveal of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Competition Sport Package last week, GM has been reluctant to give more details -- until now. GM today announced pricing for the package, which will start at $55,655 for the coupe and $77,500 for the Z06 (prices include shipping).

According to the initial release, the Competition Sport Package will include Competition Gray stripes, wheels, and headlamps on the outside with an ebony interior and titanium embroidery on the inside. The Corvette Racing "Jake" skull logo and the CSR logo will be found on the exterior of the B-pillar, on the headrests and on the center armrest. Competition Sport Packages will also get a special engine cover, Corvette racing pedals, and race-style numbering based on the car's build sequence (to be installed by the customer).

Standard Corvette coupes equipped with the 1LT package, Z51 suspension and NPP exhaust go for $52,305 while the Z06, when equipped with the 1LZ package, goes for $74,775, so the respective $55,655 and $77,500 prices for the Competition Sport Packages are pretty reasonable. GM still hasn't released any further technical details about the car, such as engine modifications or suspension work, but we expect to hear more as the car nears production.
