2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray first drive

The sixth generation Corvette has been one of my favourite performance cars and I’ve been patiently awaiting the arrival of an all-new, seventh generation Vette. I had hoped that some of the car’s shortcomings would be remedied – namely the seats and the interior design – but little did I expect that the new Stingray would break so much new ground.
This summer I’ve been instructing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s Ultra 94 Sundown Pursuit and each school day I happily pull a Corvette ZR1 from the garage for an afternoon’s work. The ZR1 is perfectly at home on the Mosport Grand Prix circuit and for good reason. Big power, prodigious grip and a harmonious package make me look good while I’m doing my job leading students around the track.
Simply put, the sixth generation Corvette has been one of my favourite all around performance cars since it was introduced and I’ve been patiently awaiting the arrival of an all-new, seventh generation Corvette since Chevy hinted at its arrival.
