I had this problem last July.
They have changed the actuator for the frunk. There were no corrosion into the connector.
If this happen to you, then you need to pull the cable (located in the foot well close to the steering colum a bit left to the brake pedal) to reset the message in the cluster. If you don't do that then the car believe that the frunk is open and refuse to get in drive or reverse gear.
You should try to locate this cable when your are in your garage and not in a hurry to find the cable. It is sometime hidden by the carpet or the insulation on the firewall.
