I was 13 when my dad purchased the '82 Vette. It's been in my family continuously for 28 and a half years.
It was on my birthday and I'll never forget how excited he was and that he wanted me to come outside and see the car. We had spent about 2 years looking for Vettes and he finally found the one he wanted. On my birthday nonetheless. LOL
Between work and raising us kids, he didn't have a lot of extra money. He saved for quite a while and then he stumbled upon the car. So when he did get it, it was a really special thing for him.
I have so many memories with that car. Dad taught me how to drive on it nd I took it to high school dances. It has always been like a member of the family.
I've had two C3s and a C5 but none hold the same place in my heart as this particular '82.
Anyway, I had the chance to get it out and run it out some today. It still puts a smile on my face when I get behind the wheel.
