My 87 overdrive some times comes on or off when I hit a bump in the road. Otherwise it works as described in the manual. O/D fluid is great. Wiring into the O/D looks great. Switch in the shifter operates smoothly. Dash speedometer operates normal. I suspect loose wiring somewhere, but havn't found a bad connection. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Would a bump in the road affect a bad pressure switch?
Could the OD relay be bad?

There are a few possibilities one would be a broken or shafed wire on the shifter going to the switck, a loose conection at the side of the O/D unit and last would be a relay. Check the connector at the O/D unit first.
