4+3 tranny question

can anyone tell me how this tranny works? like shift points and stuff? i dint get the owners manual with my car and would really like to hear how other people get the maximum power/enjoyment outta one of these types of transmissions. thank you for any advice.

Hey 88: Here's what works for me . As soon as I start the car , I turn the overdrive off and use it as a normal 4 speed until I get on the highway where I kick in 4 th gear overdrive. If you forget to deactivate the overdrive, you will be reminded as soon as you grab second gear and the car reacts as if you were in fourth. The gearing with the overdrive activated is just too high except on the highway where 90 MPH is just 2200 RPM.

ok, thanks. i think i might turn the 4+3 into a mechanical tranny like it said in the article posted by Ken. Thanks for all the advice.
