If anyone would like any more information on T-56 swaps, Chevy High Performance's has run a couple good articles on swaps into first generation Camaros. Of course, the Camaro doesn't have the shifter location issues that the Corvettes do, but the article does have some good info about bellhousing and crossmember solutions. It also provides information about a kit that is available to solve the problem of the hydraulic pull-style clutch. Here are the article urls:
