I just bought new tail light lenses for my '59. The old ones were in one piece but had a few cracks and what not.

I also bought new gaskets, but I'm pondering how to install them. Are they glued to the tail light housing? I can't see how to hold them in place while installing the lens.

Thanks for your help.

MNPaul,

Are you talking about the red lenses over the taillight assembly or the inner Tail Lamp lenses ? For the outer ones (red lenses) you might want to try a little dab of silicone just to hold it in place. The inner lenses shouldn't be a problem

It is the gasket under the red lens. You're right the inner lens is no problem. When I took it all a part and took the old gaskets off, it appeared that they were glued in somehow. I'm just wondering what the proper way to do this is. Silicone it a pretty good idea though. I just need to gently hold it in place while I install the lens. Thanks.
