Here in Vegas land prices have soared. A bunch of salvage yards are getting thier notice to vacate as of January 1,2006. I have a friend who is sort of the overseer for the yards. In one of these yards are a couple of Corvette bodies-no frames, just the bodies. What is a good price for these. I haven't been able to inspect them completely but from what I can see they are complete with doors hood and trunk. What's a good reasonable price? If I can get one or both I plan to have a custom frame made and stick a new LS2 or LS7 with C5 suspension underneath them.

I'll get the ball rolling by sticking my head out on the chopping block and say roughly $10,000 for a complete body in good condition. This is just my best guess and I'm sure others will disagree.

Windshield optional. :)

Thanks, I don't recall seeing the windshield pillars. I am hoping for under 2k a piece. These things have been siiting there for over ten years and everbody has to be out by Jan 1 so there are a lot of bargains to be had. Only 2 vettes though. I did see a 65 Moosetang 2+2 fastback that I would consider if the price was right. There is also a lot of junk cars that will probably end up going to the shredder. Some examples were a 63 Plymouth Valiant convertible that looked like it was all there and a 53 Chevy sedan delivery that was pretty complete. A 68 Chevelle in pretty rough condition. 2 early Corvairs- 1 was a convertible and the other a 2 door hardtop. 2 75 or 76 Monza Spyders. A 37 Packard 2 Door Coupe. A 37 Chevrolet 4 door. I will be going out there again and I will take some pics and post in case anybody sees something they may want.

Were I closer, I would most preobably purchase all the above mentioned cars. Nothing to loose here with all the crushing going on. I would especially love to have the 53 Sedan delivery, a very rare and sought after model.

Bob

Many years ago there use to be a song that went a little like this, " If you got the money baby, I got the time. " :beer

I thought it was you that had the money. ;LOL

Bob,

I though you knew that I was living on an 800$ a month disability pension. :ugh However I could most probably scrounge up some cash for the sedan delivery

Pricing for me is difucult.

If I was building a custom car one of the most important parts of this car to me would be a correct vin plate with a current registration so the car could be titled/registered in you name.

if its just a body,I mean just fiberglass I would pass on it as what could you do with it .
