61 Front Cross Flag Emblems abound

Last March I searched in vain for a new front crossed flags emblem for my 61 and placed orders at more places than ever remembered. Guess what... a year later one finally showed up at my door from Paragon. Several days later another one showed up from another vendor. Now I am desperately trying to remember how many other places I may have placed orders with. A couple called or e-mailed to see if I still needed one before they shipped it, thank God. Guess I must have frantically ordered at least a half dozen of them, hoping someone would just happen to get one in. By the way I don't have the 61 anymore. I think I am going to keep one emblem for posterity. I will try to contact the collector who bought my car a few months back and see if he still needs one. He'll get it gratis if he does still need it. So if anyone out there needs one you may want to place your order while the supply is plentiful.

Last year was a bad year for back orders once the spring came I was luckey as the only thing I did not order and recive prior to the spring was my horn button.( I actually was going to re-use the original trying to keep some thing original to the car but after getting the car almost complete I realised it was too far gone to keep it) I only got my horm button by accedent by being on the phone with a suppliers sales person after the prior customer canceled his order for a horn button.

As of November of 2004 when I canceled all of my back orders I still had not received my rear top latch hold down, Nor the 66 big block ignition sheilding kit I had planned on installing on the 62. I guess a major supplier stop making products for a couple of months

Gary, One of these days, I'll actually need one. How much $, if you have any to sell?

Hi Larry,
I don't have any I want to sell at the moment. I am looking at one that came to my office from Corvette Central. It was $37.00. Nice quality. Not too bad considering a few months ago I was out bid on Ebay for one that went for about $85+ if I remember right. .

Hi Larry,
The only thing I can figure is that they mis judge the demand or have trouble with the tooling or manufacturing process on some of these items. Hopefully this will be a better year.

But don't worry as soon as you sell the car (if ever) all the backordered parts will show up at your door. :)
