Hooked up my speedo cable to my 67 Muncie trans and can't get the speedo to work. I hooked up a cordless drill at the trans end of the cable and the speedo works when the drill is in reverse. The cable hookup on the Muncie is on the opposite side of what the original Borg Warner trans would be. Does this mean the cable is spinning in the opposite direction? Thanks for any help.

Did you use a longer cable to reduce the stress? I BELIEVE the cable for the C1 automatic transmission is longer and goes on the same side as a muncie.

Is the speedo gear in the proper spot on the output shaft? The measurement given in one of the Motors Manuals is wrong. I learned that the hard way. Or if your muncie uses the plastic speedo gear, the retaining clip can fall out if not installed properly causing the gear to move. Learned that the hard way too.

I put a muncie in my '59. I used the longer cable and I put the angle fitting do-dad thingie that C Central sells to reduce strain at the connection. Everything works fine.

I did have to use a longer cable and the bends are not extreme. I will check the speedo gear in the tranny and see what's going on in there. Thanks for the help.
