Help! 63 & 64 steering column color

1963 saddle tan roadster
Hi! We're new to these forums - but my husband worked on these cars when they were new. He says that the steering column on the 63 & 64 were the same color as the car. His friend says no. Who's right? :confused :W

here is my '63SWC. red exterior with red interior

here is the steering column out of my other 63swc, body and interior were blue

and here is my '64 that was originally a tan exterior and tan interior, but it has a black column....

'63 steering columns and grained-rim steering wheels were interior trim color; '64-'67 columns were satin black, with plastic simulated walnut steering wheels.

Edit: Can't remove the second "black"; forum software issue, apparently.
