I certainly did not think I would be writing an update of this ongoing restoration. Going on three years, the car has been in my possesion for about 3 months, the rest of the time it been at various shops.

Friday I took some time off of work and went to the shop the car is in now. As most know the engine has been completely reworks and now I have a .327 CI bore, back to stock. Well I saw the engine. I hope it runs as well as it looks, checked over everything and everything is in perfect order.

I sat down with the mechanic and his supervisor to go over the long "to do" list. It was determined they will start with the suspension system, then once that is completed drop the engine in. The engine compartment is finished, so no time is needed in that area. What we did find was th rear end does not have the factory gears, its running something like 2:90's or in that area. I guess that ratio was popular with the old automatics.

The rear end has to be completley rebuilt, and I am going back to the 3:55 gears. In addition we found several other little pieces that must be replaced.

I will keep all informed, but appears the car will be ready by July 1......

After this, nothing left to fix on the car....

Regards to all...Hey Barry, looks like your cast will be off and you will be driving when I still am waiting...;)

Bye for now....

Collin,

That's great news and it's nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel after all you have been through.

Best of luck with the remaining work.

hey, great news on the progress Collin! :)
I sure can't wait to see the car at Carlisle.

regarding mine - I've given up "planning" when i'll get the car back and I can drive it again. Those plans never work anyway - as you are painfully aware of.
It will probably be about the same time frame though until my car is back AND I'll be able to drive her again with my arm. looks like both of us will be missing at least half the "season" this year but after our waits it will feel so great when we do eventually get to enjoy our cars.

Oh.........you know we want to see pics of the progress on the motor and suspension work! :D
