My friend was offered a 63 fuelie in lieu of $7000 that someone owed him. He took the car which was being restored. He was told the numbers matched, but the FI was missing. This weekend, he offered it to me since he didnt have any real desire to restore. I went on Saturday to look at it. What a wreck!

ENgine: The 327 Fuelie is out of the car and a rattie 350 with M/T valve covers is in it's place. Very rusty. THe original owner told him he 327 fuelie is only a short block now and has been stored on a shelf for 20 years.

Body: The front clip is from a '67 with a lot of home made glass work. The hood has lock down pins in it. Glass is good. I looked behind the glove box for rust in the bird cage. What litle I could see didnt seem rusty. Front bumper is gone. Rear bumpers were in decent shape.

Paint: Forgetaboutit! It was three differnt colors showing where it is peeling off, and where it isn't peeling it bubbling.

Interior: Most of it is there. The shifter is aftermarket. The radio seem original. The head liner is packing material.

Suspension: I couldnt get under the car, so I have no idea what is really doing. All the tires are flat and there are three types of wheels on the car.

I think if the chasis is good and isnt rusted, $7000 is a good price. If the fuelie block is salvagable, I have something specal to build. EVen if the fuelie is trashed, I could build something with a monster motor.

Should I do it? Or is this really too far gone? I know it is hard to answer without seeing it, but believe me when I say, if this wasn;t a Vette it would be rusted away to sh1t.

It's a coupe ....

Vette

Hello
A 63 coupe with a good birdcage, frame and a lot of the interior exterior pieces, it may be worth getting. 63 parts are not cheap
Tom

for comparison, see what Jerry Bramlett's no motor whatsoever and completely shot birdcage C2 fetched on ebay recently:

(the linked picture in that listing has since moved on to another item Jerry is selling)

in other words, take the car for $7000, assuming it is not rusted out and title is clear. You could flip it for a quick profit, or get to work on it, or let it get to work on your bank account, and marriage, and sanity.
