redoing my dash and the black on the console..the dash pads are done and now i have to do the satin or semiflat black sections on the dash and the console...should i just use krylon or rustoleum or does anyone know of any more durable paint?..thanks...fred

i just used Krylon #1613 semi flat black and it turned out very nice........ just make sure the top coat is relitively thick and uniform so it all dries to the same "flatness" and texture.

A little tip on single component semi gloss black paints....Dont use on high humidity days or early in the am when there is dew on the ground. It will dry chalky looking if not white.

The consensus for interior black midyear paint seems to be either Krylon Semiflat Black, or John Deere Blitz Black.

I used the Krylon for my 1965. It dries fast, and is easy to work with. You shouldnt have any fogging problems so long as you don't use very heavy coats.
