hi..used corvette america primer first, then black vinyl dye on my 65's dash pads...the finish is a little grainy/rough and i'm afraid it's going to collect any dust and dirt...aside from stripping the whole thing and redoing, any suggestions?...armourall the **** out of it?...some sort of mild thinner that might be enough to smooth it out?...WD-40?...i called corvette america and they had no clue...thanks for any help

Sounds like you may have sprayed it a little dry, but no, I don't know of anything to flow it out at this point. I believe laquer thinner will remove it pretty readily should you desire to re-spray, but use only with caution if the dash panels are still in the car, as it will remove the paint on anything else it touches, also.

Laquer thinner is also a good primer before vinyl dying plastic parts. I've found that used on a lint free rag as a wipedown, will leave the surface slightly tacky for a good bond. Hope this is of some help.
