Hi, I recently purchased a 66 corvette, it has quite a bit of documentation, including original bill of sale, dealer receipts such as tune ups, the POP, etc. It has 43,000 original miles (odomenter statements and receipts indicate the originality). It also has the original lacquer paint, all original interior, carpet, etc. Also original alternator, of course numbers matching engine, etc. Is there a criteria that proves its a survivor, you hear the word thrown around a lot. Its my first C2 and a dream come true, I've had C3's but always wanted a C2.

Thanks

first of all, welcome to CAC
:)

I would join NCRS and than also purchase a copy of the NCRS Judging Reference Manual. As per the NCRS description:
This manual outlines all rules, procedures, and policies pertaining to judging events, conducting a judging school, Duntov Mark of Excellence Awards, Flight Awards, Performance Verification Testing, and the new Chevrolet Bowtie/Star Awards. This manual is a "must-have" for anyone entering a Corvette or judging/observing at an NCRS event.* This is a must have if you ever plan on having you're car judged.

The survivor criteria is judged is judged in the Bowtie competetions.

hope this helps

"Survivor" is the Bloomington classification for an unrestored original car, and "Bowtie" is the NCRS classification for that type of car. The requirements differ somewhat, but the key issue if you choose to pursue either one is DON'T DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR; both judging classifications are concerned ONLY with originality, not condition. As posted earlier, you should order the "Corvette Judging Reference Manual" (a/k/a the "White Book") from the NCRS on-line store at www.ncrs.org , which explains the Star/Bowtie judging procedures and requirements in detail. Good luck!
